“ FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION OR FORM FOLLOWS PASSION ”

Ek Thongprasert found himself in the Architecture faculty of Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. At that time, he was in an environment that encouraged a critical approach to design, focusing on solving problems through design. Later, through several years in the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium, he was introduced to introspection and to seek and question who he is. It led to the question of how he classifies himself:

Logical or emotional?
Facts or fiction?

We might feel safe and be protected by following instructions but we might feel free without conditions. The conditions always affect our lifestyle, as if we are targeted by design. But who frames these conditions to classify us?
Are these conditions still valid at the present?
What would happen if clothing could be worn by any gender or generation?
Does fashion forcedly classify who you are?
And can we free ourselves from the typical trends controlled by the fashion industry?

“ FASHION = BOUNDARY ”

Fashion limits us to wear what others want us to be. Trends set a solution, color, or even silhouette that we should wear for every season.

Can fashion have no boundaries? No conditions for ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or generation? Ek believes that in a limitless space to embrace diversity, creativity, and uniqueness.

There are not only two sides:
Strong or fragile.
Masculine or feminine.

Rather, we can be both at the same time.

Now, we live in a time when these boundaries are blurred. We are multidimensional, transcending boundaries.

“ At the end, we do not have to classify or be classified by who you are because we can place ourselves into a limitless space without boundaries ”

In a very soon future. We are going to create an uncategorized wardrobe, which is not divide by any generation and gender, to share experience, masculinity or femininity, old school or modern, No boundary.
